After five years of music theory and vocal studies, Alyvia began learning to play the harp as her first instrument. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, specializing in harp, from the College of New Jersey in 2014, alongside a second major in International Studies and a minor in Chinese language. In 2017, she earned a bilingual MBA from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, where she completed her studies in Mandarin Chinese.
Under André Tarantiles’ tutelage, Alyvia was introduced to Joropo, a lively South American genre that sparked her enduring interest in global music traditions. During her three years in China, she immersed herself in the local music scene, joining a Chinese a capella choir and studying the zither. Her travels to over 30 countries have further fueled her passion for collecting and performing music from around the world.
Now based in Seattle, Alyvia performs at a wide range of events and venues, including weddings, restaurants, art festivals, charity galas, senior living facilities, memorial services, and other special occasions. Her diverse repertoire spans Classical, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Stage/Cinema Soundtracks, Holiday and Folk music from cultures around the globe.
